My work with Colombo was about documenting a genius in motion before the world fully caught up.

Colombo wasn’t just making work. He was building visual language — strange, sharp, layered, and astronomically ahead of its time. Surrounded by intrigue and operating with the kind of instinct you can’t manufacture, his process felt just as important to capture as the finished pieces themselves.

The goal was simple: document the artist at work from a third-person perspective. No overproduction. No interruption. Just access, observation, and respect for the process.

As both a friend and creative witness, I created visuals for the sake of preservation — capturing the work, the environment, the rhythm, and the quiet intensity behind an artist moving through his own universe.

Artist documentation, process photography, visual storytelling, creative archiving, studio capture, and behind-the-scenes content — all built around preserving the presence of an artist whose work carried its own gravitational pull.

Our work on the Trump piece was about turning political consequence into visual confrontation.

The concept was to take a current cultural issue and collide it with the provocative, deeply layered work Colombo was already creating. At the time, the Muslim ban was dominating national conversation, and the creative direction centered on one clear visual statement: surround the head of Donald Trump with Muslim currencies and force the symbolism into the frame.

The message was direct: you can’t run from your choices.

The result was an incredibly powerful image by Colombo, executed in one of his many signature mediums — a piece that felt urgent, uncomfortable, and impossible to separate from the moment that inspired it.
